  3. Implications of Mission Statement The MFSA regulates by monitoring: Compliance by licence holders with their legal and regulatory obligations Competence levels of its employees and those employed with licence holders Type and frequency of Consumer Complaints

  4. Competence is KEY For the financial sector to be efficient, employees and prospective employees have to be properly and continuously trained Periodic demands of a technical and human resource nature have to be met This ensures that the country remains competitive while the customer gets a fair deal

  5. Training Related Initiatives To date the MFSA has been involved at various levels in: Participation in ‘Career related’ initiatives in Secondary/Post-Secondary Schools Training for Prospective Employees – aimed at satisfying requirements within the financial services sector and also for re-training

  6. Training Related Initiatives To date the MFSA has also been involved at various levels in: Short training programmes held in conjunction with professional training bodies - Continuous Professional Development and Regulatory Updating Internal Training for Staff ~ Personal andManagement Skills ~ Technical Skills

  7. The MFSA works to achieve its training objectives through the: Industry Training Policy Approved Qualifications List (Regularly Updated) Education Council recently set up in terms of the Authority’s Strategic Plan for 2007 - 2009
