  1. By: Christopher Johan/6A The Connection Between Past Civilization to Our Present life

  2. Geography

  3. Past • It is located between Asia and the Middle East. • It is surrounded by 2 rivers named the Tigris and Euprates river. • There are at least 100,000 thousand people in there

  4. Present • Now Sumerian is in the city of Iran and Iraq. • It is next to the Persian bay which leads to the Indian ocean. • The relics of Sumerian are still hidden inside Iran and Iraq. • There are 108,031,226 people in there now.

  5. Change and connection • Because the population of Sumer is getting more and more every year, people move to different countries like Egypt, Turkey and Saudi Arabia. • They also move because Sumerians got an economical breakdown and Sumer was attacked by other countries.

  6. Future • Because of more people that are born in Iran, in the future there will be more scientist that work and there will be more artifacts that are revealed from Sumerian. The artifacts that are found will be used for future generations for them to study.

  7. Economical

  8. Past • They were the first people to barter with one another. • They usually barter food, fruits, meat or cocoa beans • Sumerians are rich because their city has a lot of natural resources like wood, iron, copper, etc.

  9. Present • Most people use money for selling and buying goods • Iran is not so rich because there are a lot of corruptors there so the money that is collected are taken by those corruptors.

  10. Changes and connection • People don’t barter anymore because it is not efficient so they invented money to make it more efficient. • Now Iran are not rich because when Sumerians were conquered, the resources re gone and taken away.

  11. Future • Because there are corruptors in Iran, in the future Iran will be more poor if these corruptors are not punished.

  12. Political

  13. Past • They have one king that is chosen by the descendants of the previous kings so regular citizens can’t be the king. • The king controls everything inside Aztec including the small cities near Aztec. • The troops and soldiers catch and capture bad man and put the m into jail. • The king can do whatever he wants so there are no rules to be obeyed.

  14. Present • Now presidents control the country and presidents are chosen by votes of the citizens. • The president must follow the rules that are made so they can’t just do whatever they want. • Now cops and soldiers have weapons like guns and teasers.

  15. Changes and connection • Now there are laws that needed to be obeyed because the citizens don’t want it anymore so there are laws because of the citizens. • It also changes because it follows the international rule. • Troops, soldiers and cops are still used today.

  16. Future • Because countries are developing new technologies of weapons so in the future there will be more advanced weapons like laser guns. And with more advanced weapons, they can catch bad people easier.

  17. Culture

  18. Past • They had their own language called Cuneiform which is also spoken by the Mesopotamians in the 4th century. • They have celebrations and festivals food festival that is being celebrated by the citizens.

  19. Present • Iran family have a celebration called Arof where people come to 1 place to eat food together and where the guest give presents to the owner of the house • They also have national celebrations like Christmas, Chinese New Year, Idhul Adha, etc.

  20. Changes and connection • They don’t use Cuneiform anymore because people want it to be shortened and people want to read words faster. • They still celebrate food festivals in Iran

  21. Future • Because they still do traditional celebrations, I think it will be celebrated it the future by future descendants and because more foreigners are coming to Iran, the national holidays will be more popular.

  22. Religion

  23. Past • Sumerians worship a few Gods like God of the sun, earth, sea, etc. • They build temples or buildings to worship their Gods. There are buildings called Ziggurats that are used to worship their God • The Sumerians also believe in aliens from outer space and they can explore the space in the past even of there is no tool to explore it. Sumerians believe in aliens

  24. Present • Most people have their own religion like Christian, Islam, Hindu, Jewish, etc. • Now there are churches, mosque, etc. • Now people use tools like telescope to explore the space.

  25. Changes and connection • People stop believing in Gods because they now have their own religions which there is only 1 God. • People don’t build temples anymore because now they have the technologies to build more advanced buildings. • People still study in the outer space.

  26. Future • In the future, I think there will be more religions in Iran because more foreigners come to Iran that spread their religion. • In the future, there will be more buildings to worship their God because there will more people in the future.
