  3. 11th Grade English Course Options • English 11 or • AP Language and Composition • Who should take AP Lang? •      Students who wish to improve their critical reading and writing skills and work at the college level.  Students who were successful in Honors English 10 (grade of B or above) and students who are motivated to analyze short pieces of non-fiction and write about and discuss them in a mature, intelligent way.  Students coming from English 10 should have a conversation with their English teacher about the class.  • 2. Work required for AP Lang? • Most work done in class.  Some reading and outside research required outside of class.

  4. 11th Grade English Elective Course Options • These may be taken along with either English 11 or AP Language/Composition

  5. English Elective Options – 0.5 Credit Options

  6. Math Course Progression • **Math Course Placement for registration is based on recommendation from your current Math teacher. • Please let them know if you want to progress more quickly**

  7. Specialty Math Courses • Gaming and Mathematics • Elective only • Must have passed or currently taking Algebra • 0.5 Credit/Year

  8. Science Course Progression(Class of 2021) Starting with the class of 2021, all students will be required to pass the Washington Comprehensive Assessment of Science (WCAS) to graduate

  9. 11th Grade (Class of 2020) Science Course Options Science Graduation Requirements 3.0 credits of laboratory science 9th grade - Biology or Agricultural Biology (1 credit) 10th or 11th grade - Physics or AP Physics I (1 credit) 10thor 11th grade - Chemistry or Preparatory Chemistry (CHS) (1 credit) *Both Physics and Chemistry are required for graduation, but may be taken in either order.* Some 4-year colleges and universities recommend or require 4 years of science

  13. 11th Grade Social Studies Course Options • AP U.S. History ( year-long; 1.0 credit) • Students who are academically motivated and interested in history • Work Required: At least one hour of homework per class • OR • 19th Century US History (semester-long; .50 credit) • 20th Century US History (semester-long; .50 credit) • Students may also choose to take a Social Studies Elective in addition to their US History Course.
