  8. EWB promotes human development through access to technology by: • Partnering with developing communities to help build the capacity of their technical sector

Overseas • Why? • Technology when properly incorporated into the social, cultural, political and economic context can drive change. • It is part of the solution • Approach • We work alongside other organizations overseas • We work in access to technology not technology delivery • Opportunities: • Junior Fellowship in Int’l Development • 2 from U of A chapter/year (applications open in October) • 4 months overseas, 18 month commitment • Long Term Placement • For university graduates • 1 – 3 year placements

EWB promotes human development through access to technology by: • Partnering with developing communities to help build the capacity of their technical sector • Raising awareness among Canadians about how they can make decisions that positively impact communities overseas • Encouraging the Canadian government to become a model global citizen by taking on a leadership role in poverty alleviation • Encouraging Canadian corporations to adopt fair and humane • practices.
