Outline Guiding Question: Overall, was the presidency of George W Bush good or bad for the United States? • Outline an essay answering the guiding question using the sheet provided • Come up with three main ideas and a subthesis for each body paragraph (one on foreign policy, one on economics, and one on society) • Combine these into a main thesis that answers the guiding question • On the back, come up with a hook, context, summary, and expansion for your intro and conclusion

Guiding Question: Overall, was the presidency of George W Bush good or bad for the United States? • Introductory Paragraph • First sentence is a hook • Next sentence or two is context • Next sentence is your overall thesis • Last sentence is a summary of your three body paragraphs • Body Paragraphs (Foreign policy, economy, society) • Each body paragraph begins and ends with a transition sentence • Each body paragraph has three main ideas and detailed evidence to prove each main idea • Each piece of detailed evidence has an in-text citation • There are at least two sources in each body paragraph • Conclusion • First sentence restates your thesis • Next 1-3 sentences summarize your body paragraphs • Final sentence or two expands on your topic • Works Cited • You need full, MLA citations for each source used on a separate Works Cited page
