Background • OMB Information Initiative • Improve Quality of Information Collected • Reduce Collection Burden • Maximize the Benefits of Technology • July - Geospatial Information Roundtable • Sept to Dec - Meetings with Federal Agencies, NSGIC and others • Jan-Feb - review of proposed agreements for project support

Status • A memo of Intent to Award Cooperative Agreements has been sent to Council for Excellence in Government and Urban Logic • CEG • Will provide support for the Initiative for I-Team coordination • Facilitate meetings, help establish and convene Financial Solutions Team • Help link with OMB and also with E-Gov • Urban Logic • Will provide support for Financial Solutions Team • FGDC and OMB will provide oversight • Anticipate late March/early April for significant actions

  6. I-TEAMS • Implement the New Paradigm • Public/Private Partnerships • Local Jurisdictions, States, Tribes, Federal Government, Private Sector • Implement NSDI Principles • Develop, Test and Use Standards • Federal Champion

Financing Solutions Team • Address mismatch between • the need for long term capital financing • our current reliance on short term annual funding mechanisms • Explore other intergovernmental and public-private financing options • Develop Business Case and Funding Options for I-Teams and Federal Partners • Help Explain to Legislative Bodies the Benefits of Aligning Investments

Technology Advisory Group • A Resource for I-Teams • Technology Neutral; Open to All Vendors • Solve Common Technology Challenges • Advise CIO Council • Keep I-Teams & Federal Partners Informed of Cross-Cutting and Innovative Solutions • Use I-Teams to Develop and Test New Products and Solutions • Transfer Knowledge of How to Build Interoperable Networks and Systems
