Introduction • The Parade of Nations Catwalk 2011 • fashion show organized as part of the International Model United Nations Conference (iMUNC) • platform to showcase outstanding creativity, elegance and style in an attempt to fuse the past and the present, history and modernity • aims to celebrate something special that we all share despite our differences -Style.

  3. The hour-long Parade of Nations Catwalk 2011 comprises of two rounds in which participants will be judged based on their creativity, elegance and overall delivery. Participants who manage to best tantalize the senses and feast the eyes of the audience will be handsomely rewarded.

  4. Traditional Round Theme: Roots and Boots • In the first round of the parade, the Traditional round, teams must dazzle and captivate the audience as they proudly feature their nation’s most elegant traditional outfits. Teams however, are encouraged to improvise the traditional outfit with their own materials. This round is compulsory for all teams comprising 4 members or more and optional for teams comprising less than 4 members.

Modern Fusion Round Theme: Unity in diversity • In the Modern Fusion round of the Parade of Nations, teams are encouraged to innovate and let their creative juices flow, featuring a twist that fuses the tastes of different cultures and the fashion crazes of the in the country/different countries to arrive at a style that knows no boundaries. All teams participating are to submit a short write-up of about 50 words on their costume for Round 2. This will be read out during the catwalk itself. This round is compulsory for all teams comprising 4 members or more and optional for teams comprising less than 4 members.

  6. Rules and Regulations • All representatives participating in the Parade of Nations 2011 are disallowed to display any form of nudity whatsoever. Violation of this rule is against the law and teams will be immediately disqualified and reported to the higher authorities. •  Teams are forbidden to deride the traditional outfits of their respective nations. Teams must observe proper etiquette and show respect towards the customs and beliefs of the nations that they represent. •  Teams must only perform their walks when instructed to do so by Parade of Nations on-stage manager. Teams are disallowed to perform any walk without prior instruction. •  Teams will be given a fixed amount of time for preparation and fitting right before the Parade of Nations commences. Teams that fail to report for their walks on time will be disqualified.

  7.  Non-participating members of the teams involved in the Parade of Nations are not to disrupt the walks in any way. •  Representatives of the participating teams are disallowed to perform any offensive hand gestures or body movements. This includes overly suggestive, sexually inappropriate poses. •  Any costs incurred in preparation for the Parade of Nations must be solely borne by the schools. The organisers will not reimburse for any costs incurred. • Award Policy: Participation in the Parade of Nations is required for schools to be considered for Delegation awards. Failure to do so will result to disqualification for such consideration.
