Founded in 2006 • In 2011 - 2012 • over 200 students enrolled in journalism classes • JPG provided four $500 scholarships • JPG provided $3,000 for equipment funding/teacher wish list • JPG provides support for work nights with food and refreshments, assists with banquets, homecoming float and fundraising • JPG is social! A student’s educational experience is enhanced when a parent figure is involved. • When parents are involved in their student’s education they do better and go farther in school. • A home environment that supports learning is more important to student success than income, education level or cultural background. • Some of the results of parental involvement include student achievement, reduced absenteeism and improved behavior. • One area to aid in this positive approach is to become involved in your student’s parent organization. • Parents are the most important partner in a student’s education and school’s and families can reap large dividends by utilizing this support.
