  2. Biographic History • Jeff was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on January 12, 1964 • Raised by a teenage single mother. • Always did well with electronics. • Graduated from Princeton University • Founded Amazon in 1994

  3. Other Activities • Hiking • Founded Blue Origin, a space program.

  4. Founding of Amazon • Jeff quit his job to start Amazon • Amazon started as a book store. • Jeff’s vision for Amazon is for it to “be earth’s most customer centric company; to build a place where people can come to find and discover anything they might want to buy online.”

  5. Logo and Slogan • Amazon’s logo’s is pointing from A to Z to symbolize the variety of the company • It also represents a smile for customer satisfaction. • Amazon’s slogan is “….and you’re done”

  6. Mission statement “To continue to offer quality products and services using the best technology available and at a reasonable price. This results in highly loyal customers, while maintaining shareholders interest and company profits in mind. We also want to expand geographically, increasing the number of customers and to keep improving our main competitive advantage - infrastructure. By working hard and having fun we seek to offer the best working environment to our employees, promoting career opportunities, and to increase our responsibility towards environment and the society.”

  7. Miscellaneous • Stock symbol is AMZN • Besides the usual online store products, Amazon has also created the Kindle, a sort of digital book and bookstore.

  8. Success • Amazon has been successful in no small part to its CEO, Jeff. His decisions have helped shape the company for better. • After Amazon had been established as a bookstore, he slowly started to sell other products.
