  3. 1. Brainstorm an Idea Before you can plan a social, you need a social to plan! Examples: Balloon fight Potluck Secret Santa

  5. 2. Pick an Appropriate Venue Ask yourself, does the location fit the activity you are trying to plan? Examples: Balloon fight – Park Potluck – Cafeteria Secret Santa – North Pole

  6. 3. Make a Schedule Have an idea of what you want to do during the event:  Here’s a sample from Region 13 Picnic

  7. 4. Assign Tasks Why should I delegate? It’s a lot of work for one person to handle A good leader knows how to delegate properly Try to give tasks to people who are especially talented in that area

  8. 5. Chaperones Why do we need chaperones? Safety! Chaperones can be… Any adult 25 years and older Kiwanis/Faculty Advisors Parents

  10. 6. Advertisement “Advertise, advertise, ADVERTISE! Get out there and ADVERTISE!” If you don’t advertise, no one will be at your social (besides you of course) Methods Include: Posters Flyers Email BEECREATIVE

  14. 8. Reimbursements Many events require money to be paid in advance Ensure everyone is reimbursed for their contributions Proactive planning will ensure there is no debt
