  3. Almen Strips • The “A” strip is the most commonly used strip. • For higher intensity peening use the “C” strip. It is thicker and does not bend as readily as the “A” strip. • For lower intensity peening use the “N” strip. It is thinner and bends easier than the “A” strip.
