  5. Things to try.. • Ceviche is one of the most characteristic meals of the Ecuadorian coast. The varieties of ceviche on the coast can include a great variety of wonderful seafood including octopus, squid, lobster, crab, shrimp, and different types of fish. In the Andes, chochos (a type of local bean, sometimes known as the Andean lupin in English) are included in the ceviche. It is often accompanied with popcorn, toasted corn, or chifles (plantain chips). • Colada morada is yet another noteworthy Ecuadorian beverage. This purplish coloured drink is made from a base of black corn flour and fruit juices such as naranjilla, babaco, pineapple, blackberry, strawberry, or mortiño (an Andean fruit similar to blueberries). Colada morada is a special drink enjoyed on the Day of the Dead (November 2) and accompanied by guaguas de pan which are sweet bread figures shaped like a child.

  13. Day One • Fly to Baltra. Meet the guide and transfer to the boat. • Visit the Twin Craters and El Chato in the highlands of Santa Cruz in the afternoon for an opportunity to learn more about the volcanic formations, flora and fauna of the Galapagos Islands.

  14. Day Two • Visit Post Office Bay on Floreana Island. • Snorkeling excursion at the Corona del Diablo and landing at Cormorant Point. • Guided walks to observe the bird and wildlife and learn about the natural history.

  15. Day 3 • Visit to Punta Suarez and Gardner Bay on Española Island. • Guided walks to observe wildlife and free time for swimming or snorkeling.

  16. Final day • Visit the beautiful white powdery sand beaches of Witch's Hill and the sea lions of Isla Lobos on San Cristóbal Island in the morning. • Afterwards, fly back to Quito.
