  2. Creation of Book Processes that will need to be followed Current leads James has been able to reach out to publisher and printer for book Where we will go from here • Who we need to contact next • Potential next steps

  4. Grants Majority of grants found only support current undergrad and grad nursing students, registered nurses, etc. Some titles of grant categories: Get Free Nursing Financial Aid, Federal Grants for Nursing Students, State-funded Grants for Nursing Students, Grants for Minority Nursing Students, Institutional and Organizational Aid for Nursing Students, Professional Grants for Nursing Students Goal for grant is in the ballpark of USD $4,000

  5. Grants

  6. Grants There is a small category of grants that I found that supports innovation, teaching and education in nursing Joyce J. Fitzpatrick Endowed Leadership Research Fund - $5,000 Given to beginner or experienced → For research focused on leadership development of nurses The Robert Wood Johnson Foundation's Academic Progression in Nursing program (APIN) develops innovative strategies with community colleges, universities, and practice partners to prepare nurses to deliver high-quality care in all settings • NC one of 9 states in which the foundations does work Eleanor C. Lambertson Scholar Fund - $5,000 Given to beginner or Experienced → No restrictions American Nurses Foundation has a list with a couple more that could be potentially interesting https://www.nursingworld.org/~492254/globalassets/get-involved/2018-available-grants-list.pdf

  7. Nurses’ Support Positive feedback from original nurses interviewed. Believe that distribution throughchildren's clinics is probably best Would love to use social media to spread awareness. “Smaller private organizations will be easier. For larger hospitals it have to go through administration. Like my hospital, every thing needs approval from upper management prior to dispersal”

  8. Long Term Vision Distribute 2000 books across a network of pediatricians and hospitals around the country in order to gain the max number of eyes, particularly those of adolescents. Need book ideas, cover page, and maybe a few pages of script in order to apply for grant.

  9. Final presentation arc Educate on problemThe definition of a nurse is someone who is trained to take care of the sick. Although when people aren’t comfortable with their nurse it impinges on the nurses ability to give the patient the best care possible. Problem is that people do not understand that nurses are well equipped and educated healthcare professionals who are greatly able to care for and assist when they are needed or counted upon. Demonstrate problem scopeFrom our research of conducting interviews, surveys, and reading research papers, it is clear that with using diversity and education to our advantage, we can begin to ameliorate the trust issues patients have with nurses. Describe solution DiscoveryResearch has shown that the younger age children are presented an idea or concept, it is more likely that the idea will stick with them as they grow older and it will have an affect on their perceptions or opinions. That is why we decided on creating a Children’s book that shows what nurses do so that we can change perceptions and instil trust. Present solutionEducational approach to the solution and show book. Title, idea, some contents, etc.

  10. Final presentation arc (Cont.) Show solution value With XX amount of children’s hospitals and hundreds and thousands of patients, the children’s book will be able to reach an extensive audience and as a result these new ideas about nurses will start to stick in the minds of children and change the stigmas and stereotypes associated with nurses Show solution potential This book, if written in an engaging memorable fashion, has the potential to have a direct impact on eliminating trust issues between patients and nurses, increasing a more diverse interest in the nursing path, and changing stereotypes that currently surround the nursing industry. Thus, the key stakeholders the patients will feel more secure during treatment if they can’t see a doctor, nurses will receive more respect and trust, and it may encourage more young adults to choose nursing as a career path Show increasing demand (Traction) If we can execute on creating an entertaining and memorable children’s book that is achieves its goal, children and parents will want to read the book. As a result, there could be higher demands and purchases not just from parents, but also from hospitals who support and book and our mission. Make ask/Coda Ask audience who watches final pres. for their support and connections that possibly could help make out project become a reality ($4,000)
