Strategic Research Program in Epidemiology Announcementof small grants – for activitiesaiming to promotescientificexcellence in epidemiology and increasescientificcollaborationbetween different epidemiology centers and departments at Karolinska Institutet Types of fundableactivities: 1. Half- or fulldayseminars or workshops with invited speaker(s) (up to 50,000 SEK)2. Grant writing workshops (up to 25,000 SEK) 3. Shortcourses in epidemiology(up to 50,000 SEK) Instructions: The activity must explainhow it supports at leastone of the three SFO themes: I) Human interactions with micororganisms II) Molecular, genetic and clinicalepidemiology III) Lifespan approach to Health and Disease. The applicationshouldclearlystatehow at leasttwo, preferablymore, separate epidemiology centers/departments are activelyinvolved in the organization and participation of the proposed event and howcollaborationwithinepidemiology at KI is fostered. A grant applicationof max. one page should, in addition to the above, specify: - the scientificaims - briefbackground - plannedschedule - budget - target group for the activity Main applicants at post-doc, assistantprofessor or associate professor levelwill be prioritized. Applications can be e-mailed to SFO-coordinator Maria BernerHolmström (maria.berner.holmstrom@ki.se). Decisions are taken bi-monthly.
