  3. The standard of islam “The prayer is the standard of Islam. Whosoever loves prayers, and observes their limits, timings and methods, is a true believer.” ~ Holy Prophet (saw)

  4. The face of religion “For every thing there is a face and the face of your religion is prayers.  So see to it that none from amongst you damages and disfigures the face of his religion.” ~ Holy Prophet (saw)

  5. Importance of salaat Salaat is known as the best action and there are so many ahadith telling us how important Salaat is! Group Work: Each group will be given some ahadith on Salaat. After you have read them, make a list of as many reasons as you can think of why Salaat is so important.

  6. Concentration in salaat “Only that portion of the prayer which the person has offered with concentration and mindfulness of the heart is made to ascend (is accepted).” ~ Imam Baqir (as)

  7. Concentration in salaat Prayer is a real blessing! Yet sometimes it can be hard to focus on prayer and not get distracted… Let’s make a list of the things that might distract us in prayer… Now let’s think of what we can do to make sure each of those things don’t distract us in the future.

  8. Some tips to concentrate • Remember that Allah (swt) is looking at us with His Mercy when we are performing Salaat • Make sure we have energy and are alert and not sleepy when we pray • Look at the meanings of Salaat and try to understand what we recite • Pray in a quiet, secluded place without any distractions like mobiles, tablets, games or tv

  9. Some tips to concentrate • Memorise new chapters of Qur’an and recite them after Al-Fateha in our prayers to help us focus • Always remain in wudhu as this cleanses our souls from many sins and disruptive thoughts • Practice silence and do not waste our time in senseless talk or futile conversations • Spend some time remembering the Greatness of Allah (dhikr) and recite Adhan and Iqamahbefore prayer

  10. Meditation exercise Let’s practice focussing all of our attention on Allah (swt) Close your eyes and relax… Listen to your breathing – breathe in and out, in and out… Feel all your muscles relax, your neck, your shoulders, your arms, your legs… You are a creation of Allah (swt) – He has made you and the air you breathe… Allah (swt) is the One who loves you more than anybody can… Breathe in and out…

  11. Meditation exercise Now take some time to think of all the things you are thankful to Allah (swt) for… Your eyes, ears, your health… Your parents, family and friends… The world around you, the beautiful sky, the green grass, the hills, the mountains, the oceans and rivers… The flowers, butterflies and birds… And as you think of each of these things, whisper ’Alhamdulillah!’

  12. EXCELLENT!WELL DONE!
