Suppliers

So, where do I start?

  • Design & appoint the project team – responsibilities & communication channels

  • Clarify scope of work & quality criteria

  • Identify resources needed

  • Plan & cost the project

  • Get to know your stakeholders

Ready to take the plunge?

Communications

So, for all of you project managers out there…

  • Make sure you get the commitment from the business and your boss – work hard to keep it

  • Give yourself time to think – it’s time well invested

  • Don’t be afraid to say no and tell it like it is

  • Accept that you won’t get it right all the time

  • Accept that you can’t make everybody happy

  • Keep documentation to a strict minimum

So where can I get help?

  • http://www.ogc.gov.uk/sdtoolkit/Comprehensive and freely available electronic tool for best practice and guidance on project management and related activities.
