Genetic Disorder Is a muscle disease that weakens the muscles in the human body.
Symptoms & Effects • Weakness to muscles, • Lose ability to walk by the age of 12. • Frequent falls. • Deformities.
Diagnosis • Based on results of muscle biopsy • Become diagnosed as infants usually • Some Muscles are affected by different muscle dystrophy. • usually there is a loss of muscle mass.
Prognosis • People with DMD varies according to type & progression. • Some cases are mild and progress over lifespan. • Muscles affected varies can be around the pelvis area.
Treatment • There is no known cure for it. • There is physical therapy to prevent contractures. • Activities are encouraged not doing nothing can make the disease worst
Genetic Counseling • Is recommended for people that have the history of the disease. • Can be detected of 95% accuracy. • Genetic studies are performed during pregnancy.
