  1. VACANCY ASSISTANT AREA STAFF OFFICER (SEAMANSHIP) • The Area Officer is looking to appoint an Assistant Area Staff Officer (Seamanship) with a view to taking on the role of ASO Seamanship from 1 Jan 2014. • Assistant Area Staff Officer Seamanship - AASO (Sea) • The AASO (Sea) is initially appointed to understudy and support the Area Staff Officer (Seamanship) in their duties but should be prepared to take on the ASO position in Jan 14. • This role would suit a person committed to Seamanship who wishes to raise their involvement in the Corps to the next level. You will have a wide range of experience and knowledge of the Corps together with good organisational ability and excellent communication skills. This position is open to uniformed personnel only who hold the Seamanship Advanced Instructor qualification. • The successful applicant will be responsible to the ASO Seamanship for; • Cadet Training • MACTs – Intermediate & Advanced Seamanship courses (2-4 weekends) • Lead Trainer for Seamanship training at the Area Summer Camp (1 week) • Assisting the ASO Seamanship with Adult Training • Represent the Area at national functions with or in absence of ASO Seamanship • This role is in addition to current Unit/District duties • If you believe you have that level of skill and experience for this role, then we want to hear from you. • Applications for this role are to email to Area Office by 26 July 2013 (all applicants should attach a CV with comment of why they want and what they can bring to the role).
