  1. Eastern Woodland Native Americans By Logan, Doug, Grace, Sydney, Fionn

  2. Homes of the Woodland Indians • The Woodland Indians lived in longhouses that held 20 families. Longhouses were made with bark covering saplings. A wigwam was another kind of woodland home. It held just one family. Wigwams were covered in birchbark or woven cattail mats.

  3. Woodland Indian Foods • Woodland Indians ate rabbit, squirrel, deer, wild turkey and game, geese, fish, and berries. They farmed the three sisters – corn, beans, and squash. They also fished for eel and other fish.

  4. Clothing Worn by Woodland Indians • The Indians who lived in the Eastern Woodlands made their clothing from deer. They made breechcloths, leggings, dresses, and moccasins. They tanned the deer hide by scraping it with stones and soaking it in fat and water. They decorated their clothing with dyed porcupine quills. After they met the white explorers, they used beads to decorate.
