  2. JOB OPPORTUNITIES • Dental Assistant (RDA) and Expanded Functions (RDAEF) • Private practice, specialty, clinics, hospital, sales, consultant • Employment: top 10 per BLS • Education: 1 academic year • Earning Potential:$ 12-18 per hour plus benefits, etc.

  4. PROGRAM OVERVIEW • 10 MONTHS (August-June) Full Time • DA 110 and 108 offered in Spring for Part time students • State approved • Nationally Accredited (ADA) • Career pathway to other programs • Advisory committee involvement • Community service activities

  5. Admissions • Complete a Dental Assisting Application including High school and college transcripts • Meet with the Program Director • Prior to fall full time enrollment: CPR, Complete Health Assessment Form,

  6. Program Content32 units • Basic Skills and Infection Control • Dental Materials • Oral Radiology/Certificate • Chairside Assisting A and B • RDA duties • Inservice Training (DDS & USC) • Front Office Administration/Computers • Applied Human Behavior

  7. Student Success • Study skills lab • Tutors • Faculty involvement • Retention • Certificates • Excellent board results

  8. Optional Summer Session • RDA Review practical and written Exam • Orthodontic Assistant Clinical Hours

  9. Program Completion • Certificate in Dental Assisting • Additional courses =AS with Certificate in Dental Assisting • Eligibility for RDA and CDA applications • Experience and Confidence to apply to other Dental Related programs • X-ray, DPA and IC certificate • Job Readiness/Employability= 100 %
