  2. A HERNIA OCCURS WHEN AN ORGAN OR A FAT TISSUE BULGING OUT THROUGH A WEAK PLACE, AN ABDOMINAL WALL TISSUE, AN ORGAN SUCH AS THE INTESTINE OR CONNECTIVE MUSCLE SUCH AS CALLED FASCIA. The hole in the intestinal wall into which the fat or glands swell is called the Hernia defect. It is found in anyone, can happen at any age and seldom babies may be born with it. https://www.healinghandsclinic.co.in/

  3. WHY DO HERNIAS OCCUR? • Any situation that develops the pressure of the intestinal cavity over a long period may become a reason for hernia eg. Obesity, constant cough, huge lifting, chronic constipation starting to straining during bowel movement. • Family history of hernia makes more likely to have it. • Sometimes infants may be born with Hernia • Idiopathic https://www.healinghandsclinic.co.in/

  4. INGUINAL HERNIA TYPES OF HERNIA This is the most common type of hernia that happens in the intestine or the bladder protrudes through the abdominal wall or into the groin area. Generally discovered in men, it is related to ageing and constant strain on the abdomen. FEMORAL HERNIA Most commonly found in ladies, this too happens in the groin area, mostly above the line parting the abdomen and the legs. https://www.healinghandsclinic.co.in/ UMBILICAL HERNIA It befalls when fat or a portion of the bowel swells from the abdomen near the stomach.

  5. EPIGASTRIC HERNIA It occurs in the midline of the stomach, in the area connecting the navel and the below section of the breastbone. INCISIONAL HERNIA It happens at the place of previous intestinal operation for a different cause, during which the intestinal muscles were cut open to let the doctor enter the intestinal cavity to operate. https://www.healinghandsclinic.co.in/

  6. Treatment of Hernia The purpose of a hernia operation is to fix the weak muscle in the intestinal wall and seal the faulty part so that fat or bowels cannot push through it again. Depending upon the operational method to be used, there are 2 types of repairs; Open repair and Laparoscopic repair. https://www.healinghandsclinic.co.in/

  7. 1. INGUINAL HERNIA REPAIR SURGERY • Primary Muscular Repair aka Shouldice's Repair • Simple Prolene Mesh Repair aka Leichenstein's Repair • Laparoscopic Repair ( TEP and TAPP Repair ) • 3-D Mesh Hernia Repair • Advantages • Negligible recurrence rate • No chance of persistent groin pain as no stitches are done • It is a short procedure about 15-20 minutes • Daycare procedure with a short hospital stay of about 12 hours. • 2. FEMORAL HERNIA REPAIR SURGERY • Femoral hernia surgery can be done either as an open surgery or a laparoscopic surgery. In open surgery, a single cut is made whereas in laparoscopic surgery around 3 tiny cuts are done. In each of the operations, the operator decreases the hernia by pushing the fat loop of the bowel back into the abdomen. This is upheld by adjusting the femoral canal with a mesh to fix the weak point. https://www.healinghandsclinic.co.in/

  8. 3. UMBILICAL HERNIA REPAIR SURGERY • Umbilical hernia in grown-ups is becoming somewhat common due to the increasing number of obesity and laparoscopy. A repair may be done in either of the following ways: • Primary Muscular Repair • Prolene Mesh Repair • Laparoscopic Repair • 3-D Mesh repair • 4. EPIGASTRIC AND INCISIONAL HERNIA REPAIR • Following are the ways in which repair is being done: • Primary Muscular Repair • Prolene Mesh Repair • Laparoscopic Repair • Octomesh Repair https://www.healinghandsclinic.co.in/
