  2. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines Note: This document reflects campus expectations. Students’ grades shall reflect mastery of campus objectives. Teachers shall follow campus-grading guidelines that have been designed to reflect each student’s academic achievement. The Principal may approve revisions or exceptions to these guidelines. All teachers granted exceptions must post these amended guidelines on their district teacher website.

  3. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Dual credit classes follow the grading guidelines set forth by the institution responsible for the instruction.

  4. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Assignment of six weeks grades • 1). In classes other than pre-AP or AP sixty percent (60%) of a grade shall be based on summative activities such as major projects and tests. In pre-AP and AP classes seventy percent (70%) of a grade shall be based on summative activities such as major projects or tests.

  5. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Assignment of six weeks grades 2). In classes other than pre-AP or AP forty percent (40%) of a grade shall be based on formative activities such as class work, daily assignments and quizzes. In pre-AP and AP classes thirty percent (30%) of a grade shall be based on formative activities such as class work, daily assignments and quizzes.

  6. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Assignment of six weeks grades • 3). Exceptions to the percentage recommendations will be approved by the principal and posted on teacher’s district website.

  7. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Assignment of six weeks grades • 4). Grades will not be awarded or reduced for non TEKS related activities.

  8. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Assignment of six weeks grades • 5). A six weeks or semester average grade of 69 will be recorded as a grade of 70.

  9. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Assignment of six weeks grades • 6). During a six weeks grading period a minimum of seven (7) grades will be assigned. Of the grades assigned, at least two (2) will be summative in nature and at least five (5) will be formative in nature.

  10. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Assignment of six weeks grades • 7). A student may retest or redo failing summative assignments. A student must receive reteaching before being eligible to retest or redo. The reteaching will occur outside of the normal class time. The purpose of retesting or redoing an assignment is to demonstrate mastery. The maximum grade on a retest or redo is seventy percent (70%).

  11. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Assignment of six weeks grades • 7 con’t. The timeframe to retest or redo is five (5) school days after the original grade. All retesting must be complete prior to the end of the grading period. All summative assignments must have at minimum two days available for retesting. Semester exams are not eligible for retesting. A student will only be allowed to retest/redo an assignment once.

  12. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Late Work • Teachers are required to allow a student to turn in one late formative assessment per six weeks. This assignment can receive a maximum penalty of 30 points of the graded value of the work. The late work may be turned in until the next summative assessment or the end of the six weeks; whichever comes first. Additional late work is not required to be accepted.

  13. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • District Exam Exemptions • All teachers will follow district exam exemption policy. Any variation must be approved by campus principal and posted on the teacher’s webpage.

  14. Colleyville Heritage High School Grading Guidelines • Posting of Grades • All grades will be posted in the online grade book with in five (5) school days from the assignment’s due date. Assignments that will require more than five (5) schools days to be posted must be noted on the teacher’s website.
