  2. Chromatography is the process that lets scientists separate a mixture into its different parts by their color. This experiment will help you see what colors are mixed together to make each marker’s ink.

  3. A terrible thing has happened! Mr. Ted E. Bear has been kidnapped. The Three Suspects Are

  5. We’ve received a RanSomNotE from the kidnapper.

  6. Dear Students. I have taken Ted E. Bear. If you are sly enough to discover who I am, You’ll get your bear back. The Kidnapper

  7. By comparing the dyes used in each of the suspect’s markers against the ink of the, we should be able to discover the kidnapper’s identity. RanSomNotE

  8. The Experiment • Dip the edge of filter A’s sample into the water for 10 seconds. • Lay the sample on your chart under the correct heading. • Repeat this for the other samples.
