  1. ISMR QUERY TOOL: RETRIEVAL, VISUALIZATION AND ANALYSIS OFIONOSPHERIC SCINTILLATION DATA Bruno César Vani – brunovani22@gmail.com Milton Hirokazu Shimabukuro – miltonhs@fct.unesp.br João Francisco Galera Monico – galera@fct.unesp.br UNESP GEGE

  2. CIGALA/CALIBRA Network • Stations equipped with GNSS receivers PolaRxS-PRO, manufactured by Septentrio, capable of collecting data up to 100 hz. Such data may produce specific indices of ionosphere each minute. • Five new stations will be installed for the CALIBRA Project.

  3. ISMR Data

  4. Amount of measurements Stations generates IS monitoring records for each minute 1440 epochs of measurements per day • Scintillation indices • TEC indices • Multifrequency Each measurement has up to 60 parameters Visualization Measurements are generated for each GNSS satellite tracked by receivers Near 10mi records per day

  5. ISMR Query Tool Open Source Packages:

  6. 2013 / January – v. 3.0

  7. Usage of ISMR Query Tool

  8. 1. Check network data availability at the home page

  9. 2. Select a date/time interval

  10. 3. Select station(s), filters, fields, output options and plot

  11. 4. Output image will be processed and displayed

  12. Example 1 Specific analysis for Station SJCE

  13. 1. All satellites from station SJCE this year

  14. 2. Restrict the interval for the higest peak and plot it again

  15. 3. Identify the satellites

  16. 4. Compare with other station

  17. Example 2 GPS - week of the solar flare of March, 08th 2012

  18. 1. Query the week

  19. 2. Displaying only SJC stations

  20. 3.Station SJCI - S4 and sigma-phi

  21. 4. Station SJCI – identify the most affected satellites

  22. 5. Station SJCI – displaying just some few satellites

  23. 6. Station SJCI – identify the most affected time of the day

  24. Other features

  25. IPP Map (only version 2.0)

  26. RINEX

  27. Limitations • Response time: • Varies according to the amount of data in the result set • For example, a full year query can never be displayed • Use filters! • Browser: • Firefox or Chrome are recommended browsers

  28. Final remarks • Capability of identifying high ionospheric scintillation periods in the region of the network • Specific analysis which support: • development of mitigation techniques • building of prediction models • substantiation of new hypothesis about ionospheric scintillation • Researches can follow the state of the ionospheric indexes

  29. Next Steps • Positioning errors processing • 60 min. data PPP • 20 min. data PPP • ... • Visual Analytics • Classification / Clustering • Quick search through metadata

  30. Registration • Send us an e-mail to gege@fct.unesp.brwith name, institution and a short description about your interest on ISMR Query Tool and a user and password will be sent for you.
