  2. Background issues • No unique health identifier in Ireland • Two drug treatment databases: • National Drug Treatment Reporting System (NDTRS) which provides TDI data (episode based) • Central Treatment List (CTL) which records methadone treatment only (individual based)

  5. What next? • Since 2008 NDTRS has collected exit data • Potential for national data • Problem of double counting • Amend reporting mechanisms from CTL to allow full reporting at least for methadone treatment
