  2. Introduction • Born: January 30,1882 Hide Park NY • Died: 1945 on April 12, from polio • Elected: March 4, 1933 • Political Party: Democrat • Facts: He served 3 terms, he died during the 4th term.

  3. Early Life, Family and Education • His wife was Eleanor Roosevelt. • No siblings • He had 6 children, 3 survived • He respected his parents rules , his parents expected good behavior out of Franklin • He went to Harvard University College

  4. Family Life • Franklin was married to Eleanor Roosevelt. • He had six children. • He got sick with polio and died from polio.

  5. The Election • His vice presidents were Henry A. Wallace, John Nance Garner, and Harry S. Truman. • He picked Herbert Hoover they won 472 electoral votes to Hoovers 59.

  6. Significant Events in Presidency • He got polio and he fought to end the Great Depression . • Not everyone agreed with this but he was seen as a great leader.

  7. Interesting Facts • Three of Franklins children died, originally they had six. • 1907 Franklin Roosevelt became a lawyer • He ran the navy and became the governor of New York State • He died of polio on April 12, 1921
