Akhilesh Srivastava - ‘Assessing the Impact of Mega Infrastructure Project OBOR on Asia’ Mr. Akhilesh Srivastava, Chief General Manager – IT & Highways operations, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is a pioneer in integrating information and technology in India’s national highways. He is better known for his project executing skills, and going to speak on One Belt One Road implications and Modernization of Indian Highways in the 4th annual meet on Roads and Highways, Singapore. The meet is jointly organized by Marcus Evans and International Road Federation (IRF), Geneva (Switzerland) and held from 9th – 11th of April 2018. This meet is primarily focused on realizing innovative ideas and solutions in the roadways. International Road Federation (IRF) is a not – for – profit, a non-governmental organization pursuing the mission of safe roads and smart mobility. This forum provides a global platform for all the stakeholders and leading players in the roads and highways industry to address the key issues facing them with excellent networking opportunities. This two-day conference program will cover a range of topics such as road design and development, road sustainability and safety, ITS to improve traffic management, tolling to bridge the funding gaps, financing alternatives, engineering & asset management and others. The conference starts with the registration and morning coffee, followed by opening and welcome remarks from the chairperson Kiran Kapila, international road federation. And at 11:30 am, Mr. Akhilesh Srivastava, Chief General Manager – IT & Highways operations, National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) is going to speak on One Belt One Road (OBOR): Assessing the impact of this mega infrastructure project on Asia with other panelists Frederic Blanc- Brude, member advisory council, world bank global infrastructure facility Singapore and Sheharyar Chughtai, Vice President – Project Finance, Korea Development Bank. This generation needs immediate solutions for the problems. And this can be achieved by drastic technological changes. The National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), which is an autonomous body under Government of India, has been one of the leading organizations which invite technological advancements with open arms. So, it is coming up with tech-based solutions that are leaving happiness to commuters as well truckers. Mr. Akhilesh Srivastava, who has been leading the highway operations division for a quite long time, has been instrumental in the successful execution of a FASTag project and implementing the Wayside Amenities Project.
