Adverb clauses. What does it do? . An adverb clause is a dependent clause that modifies a verb, an adjective, or an adverb. Adverb clause tells: WHEN, WHERE, HOW, WHY, TO WHAT EXTENT, UNDER WHAT CONDITIONS. When, where, why, how, to what extent, under what condition.
