  2. Paul Cezanne nacque il 19 Gennaio 1839 in Francia.

  3. Ebbe antenati piemontesi , il padre era il proprietario di una fabbrica di cappelli mentre la madre era operaia della stessa fabbrica .

  4. Grazie alla famiglia agiata, Paul riuscì afrequentare le migliori scuole ; aveva una predilezione per il disegno e la musica.

  5. Visse per un certo periodo a Parigi , dove si iscrisse alla Facoltà di legge per volere del padre , qui visitò il Louvre .

  6. Ammirò diverse opere , cercò di imitare soprattutto Caravaggio.

  7. Verso la seconda metà dell’800 conobbe e divenne amico di Pissarro.

  8. Non ebbe però molto successo per cui si isolò e dopo una violenta polmonite morì dopo qualche giorno:il 22 Ottobre 1906. La fama lo raggiunse solo in seguito a tale data.
