  1. Insulin Development This medicine is used to help improve the disease called Diabetes. This causes problems with the body, when you can not produce enough insulin.

What is Insulin ? • Insulin is the medicine that is used for the disease Diabetes. • Diabetes is caused by your body not being able to produce enough insulin. • There are various side effects that come with taking this medicine such as the following • Rashes • Infections of the injection site • High Blood Sugar

  3. Insulin Can Help. People need insulin for mainly one reason. • They need to survive ! If people didn’t take their medicine then they would not survive. The insulin helps keep there blood sugar steady. If they don’t then, they sometimes might die. It depends on how bad there Diabetes is.

  4. How has it Developed • Over the years insulin development has been in process. The way you take insulin has improved over the years. *In the past people use to take the medicine by using herbs. *Then there was taking the medicine through injections *Now people take them through pumps and injections

  6. What it was….. What it has become Before most insulin had to be taken at least 3 times a day, in order to maintain there blood sugar. Now do to a breakthrough in research there had been this new medicine called the single shot. The single shot , is still insulin. This insulin is to only be taken once e very 120 days. Insulin has also developed by the way in which it is taken. * Now the disease has a higher rate in the U.S.

  7. Let’s Get Technical . What does Insulin have to do with Technology ? • Insulin has to do with Tech. because of the way that it is made , also how it has been developed. Insulin was created because people were suffering for the lost of insulin. Over the years people have used technology to understand how the insulin is made.

  8. The image in the middle shows the picture of type 2 diabetes. The picture at the top shows a bottle of insulin and the needle which is used to inject the insulin. The image at the bottom shows type 1 diabetes.

  9. Who Invented Insulin ? • Insulin was invented by a Romanian scientist named Nicolae Paulsey in 1916. By time Paulsey was able to understand the full concept of what the insulin could be used for , two scientist claimed they discovered it. Paulsey then waited a total of 50 years to prove that he had discovered the use of insulin. He did this by making an invention that helped regulate blood sugar.
