  2. What’s Open • Medical Insurance • StayWell Health Assessment • Dental • Long Term Disability • Manager’s Income Protection Plan • Child Life Insurance • Flexible Spending Accounts (FSAs)& Pre-Tax spending accounts

Medical Insurance • Change carrier – BlueCross BlueShield, HealthPartners, PreferredOne • Coverage level change – employee only or family coverage • Remove or add eligible dependents • Dependent verification required for newly dependents • No change in carrier, changing Primary Care Clinic – call carrier directly (member services)

  4. Health Assessment • Available during the entire OE period November 1 -14 • New provider – StayWell – new look and access • Paper Health Assessment available October 18 (must be postmarked by Nov. 14) • $5.00 reduction in Office Visit copays by completing the assessment and agreeing to accept coaching call • Access wellness programs throughout the year • Completely confidential • Access to a variety of wellness programs throughout the year at: https://segip.staywell.com • JourneyWell site will be available thru 10/31 – to print out info

  5. Dental • Change carrier – State Dental Plan (Delta) or Health Partners State of MN Dental Plan • Coverage level change – employee only or family coverage • Remove or add eligible dependents • Dependent verification required for newly added dependents

  6. Long Term Disability • Enroll or increase coverage • Maximum allowed coverage is approximately 60% of monthly income • Must be actively at work for coverage changes to take effect • Pre-existing condition limitation for first 24 months of coverage • Pre-Ex based on conditions treated or diagnosed the one year prior to coverage or increase

  7. Manager’s Income Protection Plan • Reduce elimination period by one 30-day unit • Must be actively at work for coverage changes to take effect • Evidence of insurability need to reduce elimination period by more than a single 30-day unit

  8. Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) Pre-tax Accounts • New annual elections required • Medical/Dental Expense Account (MDEA) • Min $100/Max $2,500 • Dependent Care Expense Account (DCEA) • Min $100/Max $5,000 per family • Use it or Lose it accounts – no carry forward • Transit Expense Account (TEA) • Min annual election is currently $50.00 • Carry-forward allowed only when employee makes a new year’s election during OE • All account elections submit on-line through Employee Self-Service • Coverage period Jan 1 – Dec 31 2014, unless employment ends or life event provides option to change

  9. What’s Not Open • Optional Life Insurance (employee, spouse, and child) • Apply with evidence of insurability • Short Term Disability • Apply with evidence of insurability • Long Term Care • Apply with evidence of insurability

What’s New for Plan year 2014 • Online Care Benefit available with MN Advantage Health Plan • StayWell is our new wellness partner for the Personal Health Assessment • Dental Plan maximum increased to $1,500 (up from $1,000) • Benny Card is back as the debit card used for FSA (pre-tax accounts) • Primary Care Clinic changes

  11. What’s New for Plan Year 2014 • Marriage Equity • New Eligibility • Spouse – same gender (effective August 1) • Dependent Children/Step Children Newly added dependents, not previously verified require Dependent Eligibility Verification

  16. Self Service OE Gather information and enroll Log into self service: www.state.mn.us/employee 1. Click on Benefits 2. Click on Benefits Enroll 3. Click Select Button (right side) for Open Enrollment (then click ok) 4. Click edit button for the insurance you are making changes to

Self Service OE • Select Carrier • Add new dependents • Check Mark Enroll Box to re-add existing dependent • Uncheck the Enroll Box to remove Dependents • Specify Primary Care Clinic ID for Dependents • Click Continue – review Your Cost and Dependents with Clinics • Click O.K. to continue or Edit to return to make changes

  18. Self Service OE • Accept Changes (if you are complete and satisfied) • See page that indicates elections are submitted • Review Confirmation Page • Print Confirmation Page

Confirmation Page • Electronic page in Self Service • Displays after accepting your change • Will see the changes made • Lists all dependents and displays “medical” and “dental” with YES/NO • Date and time stamped • There will be no more “Stored but Not Submitted (yellow) Letters” sent to employees after the OE period

  20. Tips for a Successful Open Enrollment • Carefully review the OE newsletter or review the 2014 Open Enrollment Guide • Review your benefits summary on Employee Self Service: www.state.mn.us/employee • For additional information visit MMB at: www.mmb.state.mn.us/current-bene/emp-oe

Tips for a Successful Open Enrollment • Check your Primary Care Clinic to ensure participation and cost level for 2014 2014 Clinic Directory • Review your list of dependents • Enroll in pre-tax accounts for 2014 • After making selections print out a confirmation page • Take Health Assessment and print confirmation page

Tips for a Successful Open Enrollment If you discover that your Open Enrollment selections are incorrect after the Open Enrollment period has ended: Contact SEGIP immediately by mailing or faxing a print-out of your confirmation page along with an explanation of what is wrong and what you attempted to do during Open Enrollment.
