  1. How Can I Make the Most of My Life?

  2. How Can I Make the Most of My Life? “If only one could have two lives. The first in which to make one’s mistakes … and the second in which to profit by them.” D. H. Lawrence

  3. How Can I Make the Most of My Life? “Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God - which is your spiritual worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is - his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12 1,2

  4. How Can I Make the Most of My Life? Break with the Past “Don’t let the world around you squeeze you into its own mould.”

  5. How Can I Make the Most of My Life? Break with the Past “You are on patrol in outer London when an explosion occurs in a gas main in a nearby street. On investigation you find that a large hole has been blown in the footpath and there is an overturned van lying nearby. Inside the van there is a strong smell of alcohol. Both occupants - a man and a woman - are injured. You recognise the woman as the wife of your Divisional Inspector, who is at present away in the USA. A passing motorist stops to offer you assistance and you realise that he is a man who is wanted for armed robbery. Suddenly a man runs out of a nearby house, shouting that his wife is expecting a baby and that the shock of the explosion has made the birth imminent. Another man is crying for help, having been blown into an adjacent canal by the explosion, and he cannot swim. Bearing in mind the provisions of the Mental Health Act, describe in a few words what action you would take.”

  10. How Can I Make the Most of My Life? 13. How Can I Make the Most of My Life? Make a New Start Love must be sincere. Hate what is evil; cling to what is good. Be devoted to one another in brotherly love. Honour one another above yourselves. Never be lacking in zeal, but keep your spiritual fervour, serving the Lord. Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Share with God's people who are in need. Practice hospitality. Bless those who persecute you; bless and do not curse. Romans 12 9-14

  14. How Can I Make the Most of My Life? Make a New Start • the Greek word for “sincere” means “without play-acting” (without hypocrisy) • sincere love means taking off our masks and daring to reveal who we are • when we know that God loves us as we are, we are set free to take off our masks

God wants the best for our lives”Satan” means “slanderer” - he tells us lies about God His will for us is “good, pleasing and perfect” Romans 12 2 We could not run our lives better than God can! The sacrifices we are asked to make are nothing compared with the sacrifice God made for us
