  1. Why are we here? • It’s been some time since our last open house and the project has resumed after some delay; an open house was held yesterday • We wanted to bring this project to AMS Council to ensure that we get student feedback • Students are future alumni and thus have a stake in the building • Given our proximity, we want to be a good neighbour with the new SUB

  2. Alumni Association Vision Realize the promise of a global community with shared ambition for a better world and an exceptional UBC.

  3. Goals and Purpose Goals: • An inviting alumni home on campus. • A threshold into UBC for alumni. • A welcome to UBC presented by Alumni. • A channel for Student/ Alumni connections. • A stage to nurture and present innovation. • An animated hub at the heart of campus. “The UBC Alumni Centre is a new living heart on UBC’s Vancouver Campus, and a welcoming home for alumni. It will be a vivid representation of the vital, integral role alumni play in the UBC community – both directly in their University, and out in the world with their University.”
