  2. Dear UGA College of Environmental Design, JR. Planting Design is pleased in your interest towards our professional design services. We assure you that your decision to improve the appearance of your studio will improve the health, quality of life, and atmosphere of your students. After receiving your recent request for a cost estimate for an interior design for your fifth story studio we have immediately started to discover your options. JR. Planting has recently completed a preliminary analysis of the building conditions and constructed a conceptual design that should meet your needs. The notes recorded upon our first interview were the greatest help to our design team! The team agreed with your request to keep most planting materials above ground level because of your student’s need for material space to be conserved. Great idea considering the possible contaminations and interruptions to the plant material! It was also implemented in our design to keep plantings around the parameter of the studio so circulation will not be obstructed. At your request we have also decided to include a few large potted plants in isolated spots of the studio to provide more interest to the dull walls. We also took special notice to your existing lighting and have proposed for you beneficial opportunities to your convenience. Many of your opportunities revolve around your interest to soften up the skeleton of the warehouse style architecture. We believe we have succeeded! In note to the proposed design: The plants were chosen upon existing lighting conditions noted on the 17th of February 2006, with humidity levels near 40% and temperatures of 69 degrees. The plants to be used will all be acclimatized for your building and were specially selected under your request. Lighting analysis, dimensions and perspectives can be viewed in greater detail throughout this report. The following design concept is not final and is subject to discussion at a final meeting. This report is only an estimate and plants are subject to availability from local nurseries. Any changes to the design will be discussed with you before installation. Our company’s estimate is a “buy/own” contract that includes necessary maintenance. We recommend seasonally cycling of some plant materials for optimal health conditions. With agreement upon our contract you are receiving a guarantee of specific plant materials for one year under appropriate natural conditions discussed in our company’s installation policy. You will also receive professional quality care from our trained maintenance professionals. Thanks for your interest again! If our proposal fulfills your interests for your studio please call us to schedule an appointment.Justin Whitehorn,Manager770-555-5555

  9. Cost Estimates The total price indicated does not include any replacement fees or planter fees. The price does include an annual quality guarantee of plants not seasonally cycled. These prices are for your “buy/own” contract where we will maintain your plants on a bi-weekly basis. If so choose, you will switch to a contract with additional plant guarantees for selected plants. This is recommended so we can seasonally cycle your plants for best year-round appearance. These plants are recommended for the seasonally cycled plan (multiply plant’s total price x 2)

  10. Cost Estimates Continued JR. Planting Design’s labor fee is multiplied by 12 for the final proposal to meet the companies minimal maintenance term of one year. Additional maintenance may be added to the contract upon request. Equipment rental is included in the maintenance fee.

  11. Cost Proposal After analysis or your planting area, JR. Planting Design is recommending the following for your continued success of your plants: 1) the ceiling halogen bulbs should be switched to linear florescent light bulbs to provide best “usable” light to the plants 2.) The structural support for the hanging plants should be routed around the ceiling ducts with hardware wire to maintain a safe environment. JR. Planting Design does not require the linear florescent bulbs to be installed because of the adequate existing light but we will install florescent bulbs upon request. The hanging plants will be installed with wire and covered under the installation fee in the contract. JR. Planting Design’s contract include a mandatory one-year maintenance contract. The fee listed in the final planting bid includes this maintenance, installation, plant costs and planter costs. Your fee for the design and first year contract totals at: For selective seasonal cycling of plant material your total fee is Sign here if you agree of the terms and conditions in the contract Caldwell representative
