  1. Senseless “Aptitude” Test By: Monika Kumar (Section 008)

  2. Senseless “Aptitude” Test 1 of 7 JUNKET STUDIES Ever since standardized tests have been in effect, many people have opposed it for several, valid reasons. Standardized tests are socioeconomically biased, do not exemplify equal opportunity and lack room for a student’s creativity. A great example of this is the SAT which many high school juniors (and seniors) take in order to gain acceptance into college.

  3. Senseless “Aptitude” Test 2 of 7 BURLINGTON FREE PRESS Well-known companies such as Kaplan and Princeton Review offer SAT prep classes but not all families can afford to enroll their children in these classes. The classes equip students with test taking skills and provide assistance in math, reading and writing. Furthermore, depending on where a high school is located, a high school may not offer free such classes.

  4. 3 of 7 Senseless “Aptitude” Test EDU IN REVIEW NEWS BLOG Taking the SAT is a daunting task and can cause stress for any student, especially one who has not taken prep classes and does not possess good test taking skills.

  5. 4 of 7 Senseless “Aptitude” Test COLLEGE BOARD Many believe that the SAT cannot measure a person’s intelligence. For instance, a person may do well on the critical reading section but can do horrible on the math and writing section, resulting in a overall, low score on the test.

  6. 5 of 7 Senseless “Aptitude” Test DARRYL BUTTER SCOTCH Gradating high school and moving onto college is a big step in a student’s life. Thank god, graduating high school is not based on your SAT score!

  7. 6 of 7 Senseless “Aptitude” Test US NEWS A student who had outstanding grades all throughout high school, wrote a great essay, and participated in several extracurricular activities but did poorly on the SAT would probably be rejected from their dream university and end up attending a 2 year college.

  8. 7 of 7 Senseless “Aptitude” Test ASIA HEALTHCARE BLOG It’s extremely sad to know that one test determines that a person will not be able to accomplish their goal in life to become a doctor.
