  3. KMSI is a non-for-profit organization which focuses on development and implementation of Knowledge Management (KM) in Indonesia. KMSI is to facilitate experts and professionals in related science and knowledge in Indonesia which come from universities, governments, and industries. This community aims to provide positive contributions to the development of science and knowledge in Indonesia. Introduction

  4. Foundation and Nature • The society is based on Pancasila. • The society is independent.

  5. KMSI Objective To excel and accelerate development, dissemination, and implementation of Knowledge Management in order to improve competitive advantage of Indonesia as a nation.

  6. KMSI Goals • Develop Research, Tools, and Audit in the discipline of knowledge management. • Share knowledge through conference, seminar, workshop and discussion forum or dialogue about best practice in Knowledge Management. • Develop website, membership, and promotion of KMSI. • Record and publish success story, case studies, and benchmarking. • Publish journal, books, and newsletters. • Provide training, consultancy, and pilot project. • Provide awards of national KM: Knowledge Leader, Knowledge Initiator, Knowledge Organization for profit and non-for-profit organizations. • Develop KM Standard Chapter (standardization on KM implemetation in Indonesia) and provide professional certificaion on KM in Indonesia. • Provide recommendation and suggestion to the Government as the social responsibility of KMSI to the human development based on Basic Law of Indonesian state 1945.

  7. KMSI Vision To be one of reputable KM Societies in Asia, as a source and pioneer of community development based on knowledge.

KMSI Mission • Promote togetherness and unity the sustainable learning spirit to improve the quality of national human resources. • Facilitate knowledge and experience sharing intensively amongst the members from scholars, practitioners, and government, which produce three domains of knowledge: collective knowledge creation, knowledge application, and development of knowledge society. • Initiate and involve in research, development, and knowledge implementation intensively, in various environments such as government agencies, universities, and industries - through practical, theories, and cultural approaches.

KMSI Programs • KM Socialization in Indonesia • KM Forum and Sharing Event: gathering to discuss certain topics in the discipline of KM. • KM Seminar: as a media to acquire knowledge from KM practitioners. • KM Workshop: short training about KM imple- mentation given by professionals and experts. • KMSI mailing list: to discuss and share experience, new information about KM.

  15. KMSI Programs Collaborate with KM Associations in othercoun- tries. Formulate KM Indonesian Chapter. Write success storyor best practice. Offer consultations and certified training pro- grams. KM Reasearchs and Publish books, case studies, working papers,etc.
