IT Operating Model and Strategy – Helped a major Investment Bank’s global IT organization transition to BHC, including changes to strategy, organization, governance, process and metrics • Business and IT Transformation -- Led the 3 year, $70 million program to re-engineer and automate financial performance management and reporting processes for Capital One, while under a Fed Reserve MOU • System architecture – Assessed the business case and technical feasibility of a $500 million project to overhaul the core systems of a major credit card transaction processor. Helped form a $1 billion shared services company and restructure the project to reduce risk and improve return on investment. • On-shore IT delivery – Developed the business plan and roadmap to transform an acquired organization into an on-shore captive application development center, for a top global universal bank. • Off-shore IT sourcing and delivery – Developed the growth strategy and roadmap for transformation of the Indian captive application development center of a bulge-bracket global investment bank. • IT transformation – Evaluated the strategic business priorities of a leading UK retail bank with a major competitive cost disadvantage and a highly decentralized management. Reprioritized $2bn IT budget and redesigned the IT organization and governance processes. Consolidated, simplified and redesigned organization and processes to realize savings of more than $500 million/year. • Technology strategy – Evaluated the effectiveness of the Web servicing and marketing strategy of a top-five credit card issuer, identifying usability and process design flaws which, when corrected, reduced attrition and increased direct marketing sell-thru, delivering an annual NPV increase of over $25 million. • Integrated IT operating model – Designed and implemented new organization, governance, management processes and metrics for an IT organization supporting derivatives and structured products trading systems for a leading global investment bank. • For more than 20 years Mr. Brodnitz has served major global financial institutions, corporations and agencies as a senior advisor and CIO Skills Summary • Mr. Brodnitz is founder/managing director of Groundswell Strategies, LLC, a DC-based business and IT strategy consulting firm • Previously, Mr. Brodnitz was a senior partner at Accenture and North American lead for IT Strategy and Transformation in Fin. Svcs. • Previously, Mr. Brodnitz was a Vice President at Capital One Financial, where he was led the transformation of Financial Management Infrastructure, reporting to the CFO. • He was CIO and Chief e-Commerce officer at Ventiv Health, where he developed and implemented e-Health strategy and IT integration. • He was Vice President at the Boston Consulting Group, responsible for BCG’s New York IT practice, and was a Senior Associate at Booz*Allen & Hamilton’s FS/IT Strategy practice in NYC • He was Vice President at Merrill Lynch where he led a 3 year effort to re-engineer Debt Markets Operations from trading thru accounting.
