  3. Getting started • Go tohttp://www.theesa.ca/wp-login.php • username: admin • Password: videogames_05

Editing existing page • From the dash once you are logged in: • Select pages from the left nav • Select page in question • Use the wysiwyg editor to make content changes • Use the title fields to update the existing titles in french and english • Click on the Français tab to change the French site • Use the preview button to see you changes • Select update to make the changes live

  5. Creating a new page • From the dash once you are logged in: • Select pages from the left nav • Select add new from the top of the page • See editing existing page for editing instructions

Creating a photo gallery • Click on Gallery - bottom of left hand nave • Click on add gallery / images • Click on Add new Gallery from the horizontal menu) • Add a name for the new gallery • Click on upload images • Select browser and select the images on your local dive (you can select multiple images at once) • Select the gallery from the pull down menu where you wish to upload your images • Select upload images • Select manage galleries from the left nav at the bottom of the page • Select gallery in question • Under page link to: select Photo Gallery • Click save changes • Select manage galleries from the left nav at the bottom of the page • copy the gallery ID number • Select pages on the left navigation • Select photo gallery • On the photo gallery page you will see: • E3 2010 • [nggallery id=1] • Copy the above and paste into the photo gallery page • E3 2010 - is the title you will see on the live site • [nggallery id=1] this is where you put the photo gallery id # from the previous step. Replace 1 with the number of your new gallery

Adding a top banner • Select Slide from the left nav • Select add new from the top of the page • Select Featured image from the right side of the page • Upload an image or select from an existing gallery • Select use as featured image once the images has been selected • Close media window • You can give the slide a tile for your reference, the tile will not be seen on the live site • Select update or publish *** top banner image should be 1000 wide x 135 high

  8. Edit the footer • Select menu for the left nav • Select footer menu from the top of the page • To edit existing item: • Select item in question – click on down arrow icon • Navigation label – content that appears on the live footer • Title Attribute – what users see if they “mouse” over the copy • Description – please ignore • To create new footer menu item • Follow top two points • Under custom link, label = content that will appear in the footer, url: the link where the footer label will link to.

Edit the main navigation • Select menu from the left nav under appearance • Select main menu from the top of the page • To edit existing item: • Select item in question – click on down arrow icon • Navigation label is the name of the navigation item, for example if the navigation label was set as contact, contact would appear on the navigation • In order to have a french and english navigation label you must include the text you want wrapped around the following tags: <!--:en-->Home<!--:--><!--:fr-->Accueil<!--:--> • To create a new navigation item (a page must be created first before a nav item can be added) • Follow top two steps • From the pages menu, select view all • Check the box of the page you want added to the menu • Press add to menu • The menu item will appear at the bottom of the existing items. • To change the order, click and drag the item in question to the desired location • To have the new menu item appear under an existing item: you’ll notice when you drag the nav item it will either appear left justified or slightly indented to the right. Indented to the right means the item is a child of a main nav item, aka sub menu item. If the nav item is justified to the left it will appear as main nav item.

Edit the LEFT navigation • Select menu under appearance in the left nav • Select left menu for english or left menu Fr for french • Select item in question you wish to edit • If you wish to edit an image within the nav please email gavin@reedman.ca to upload the image • To edit the text within the menu, change the text you see within the navigation label. To create line breaks insert <br> • To update the URL the menu item links to change the web address you see under URL (be sure to include http:// in the url)

  11. Uploading PDFs and insert into post • Go to media • Select add new beside Media Library at the top of the page • Choose file, select upload • Once file has upload copy the file URL • TO INSERT LINK INTO POST • Highlight word in question • Select the chain icon from the menu above the content box • Paste in URL that was copied from the uploaded item
