  1. The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde The Story of the Door

  2. Pg 9 & 10 Mr Utterson – restrained Victorian man. “something eminently human beaconed from his eye;” – shows duality of his character. Unmoving and unemotional in actions. We see characters with depth from the start. Enfield – “man about town.” Energetic, lively, emotional, showy Enfield and Utterson show two sides of man together. Setting – busy and attractive area of town gives way to a, “sinister block of building...”

  3. Pg 11 & 12 Description of the door shows it is run down and uncared-for. First encounter with Hyde - description of his figure – small and stumpy. Actions after walking over the child – “calmly over the child’s body...” Juggernaut – Hindi idol. Reaction of people to Hyde – instant loathing.

  4. Pg 13 & 14 The questioning of his link to Jekyll. Supposition of blackmail. Enfield’s desire to avoid questions and remain in ignorance if it, “looks like Queer Street,”. No one but Hyde uses the door – not fit for others to use.

  5. 15 & 16 Hyde’s face looks “wrong”. Disliked but with no clear reason for it. Extraordinary but bland.
