Once you have completed the Strathclyde application you will be nominated to a university abroad and will then have to complete that university’s application procedure. • You will be asked to put 4 areas of the world in order of preference – North America, Australasia, Europe and Asia. • The exchange place allocated to you will link to your curriculum to achieve best added value for your exchange period

Remember • The exchange period is your responsibility – we can help but you have to be prepared to work at researching the partners and matching with an institution which offers your curriculum • The exchange period is not a holiday and you will have to work hard • You need to be adaptable, resourceful and willing to embrace change and different cultures. Won’t be the same as at Strathclyde

  16. Next steps • Make sure you have an uptodate passport at the start of your 2nd year. Your passport requires to be valid for 6 months beyond the end of your exchange period. Please do not leave getting a new passport until you have been allocated an exchange place as this may cause delays with your application and visa if required.

  17. Next steps • If you are a non-native English speaker and are allocated to a non-European partner you may require an updated IELTS or TOEFL score in order to meet immigration requirements. Please bear this in mind as IELTS and TOEFL results only last for 2 years.
