Big Almaty Lake Big Almaty Lake is located 28.5km south of Almaty up a gorge of the BolshayaAlmatinka River, 2,511m above sea level.  The lake is within the Alatau – Eliy National park and  both the Gorge and the lake are an attraction for visitors using Almaty as their base.  The lake is used for both hydro electric power, and the water supply for the city, but this does not detract from the magnificent mountain scenery.

  9. Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi The Mausoleum of Khoja Ahmed Yasawi, in the town of Yasi, now Turkestan, was built at the time of Timur (Tamerlane), from 1389 to 1405. In this partly unfinished building, Persian master builders experimented with architectural and structural solutions later used in the construction of Samarkand, the capital of the Timurid Empire. Today, it is one of the largest and best-preserved constructions of the Timurid period.

The park was opened in November 2011 in respect to the First President of Kazakhstan  NursultanNazarbayev  and was then opened to the general public.

At present the collection of the Central State Museum consists of more than 300 000 artefacts of worldly and religious heritage. The museum has 7 main exhibition halls.

  16. BayterekTower BayterekTower is one of the most famous sites in Astana. The tower is 105 meters high and its observation platform is set at 97 meters, to symbolize the year the capital was moved.

  18. Nur-Astana Mosque TheNur-Astana Mosque, is a mosque located in the city of Astana, the capitalof Kazakhstan. It is third largest mosque in Central Asia. The 40-meter height symbolizes the age of the Prophet Muhammad of when he received the revelations, and the height of the minarets are 63 meters, the age Muhammad was when he died.
