PUBLIC SAFETY and FIRE PROTECTION • Improve trailside visibility • Promote emergency response access • Reduce light ignition fuels • Reduce total fuel load • Reduce vertical/horizontal fuel continuity • Increase live fuel moisture • Monitor and remove unsafe trees near trails, roads and structures • Remove large deadwood over trail • Develop fire prevention signage

USABILITY • Control motorized access at trailheads • Maintain adequate path and trailside clearance • Install markers for way-finding • Maintain high trailside visibility • Enrich habitat and outdoor experience • Provide greater safety • Place logs for seating along trails and to close unauthorized trails • Modify steep trail segments with switchbacks

AESTHETICS • Maintain privacy screening along forest edge at property lines • Provide viewing opportunities inside forest • Maintain attractive tree form • Promote biodiversity to create a mix of colors and forms • Provide adequate canopy space for normal limb form • Promote biodiversity • Maintain a forested setting
