  1. Galatians 5:22

  2. Introductory Thoughts The fruit of the spirit is an important group of attitudes that we must each have as Christians. When we have Christ living and abiding in us we become more like Him. The very first "fruit" that He mentions is love.

  3. Introductory Thoughts “The Spirit produces fruit by so ruling in and controlling man that it subdues and holds in restraint all the evil passions and lusts that dwell in the flesh, and develops into activity and life the germs of the spiritual life in man.” David Lipscomb

  4. Introductory Thoughts Parents often ask their children many questions. When will you ever learn? How many times do I have to tell you? Do I need to draw you a picture? God has drawn us a marvelous picture. He is love. Let's look at the picture God has drawn for us.

  5. God Loved Us and Sent His Son God is love – 1 John 4:8. 1 Corinthians 13:13. In this life we look for demonstrations of love. Just because someone utters the words “I love you" we don't necessarily believe them. We've seen that love in action from God. John 3:16

  6. Christ Loved Us and Died for Us Romans 5:1-8. Philippians 2:5-8. This is love in action. In Matthew 12 the Jews were seeking a sign. Focus on the words of the song - Why Did My Savior Come to Earth?

  7. Now Our Instruction - Love One Another Here is our response. We will never fully love others until we first love God. John 13:34-35. John 17:20-26. 1 John 4:20. Let's step back and look at the big picture painted by Christ’s life.

  8. Now Our Instruction - Love One Another The “Good Samaritan" of Luke 10 reminds us to help those who are in need. With the adulterous woman of John 8 Jesus reminds us to think carefully before we condemn others. The Samaritan woman living in sin in John 4 serves to show that even an outcast from society is important and useful to God.

  9. Closing Thoughts How are we going to respond? Christ like - Philippians 2:5 How Much like Christ Are You Today? Will You Love Him in Return? Will You Demonstrate That Love Right Now?
