  2. NWC-ENSDF Compatibility Nuclear Wallet Cards 1) Major updates every 5 years 2) Minor updates at least once a year ENSDF 1) Continuous updates 2) Can be out of synch with Wallet Cards in half-life, Jp, isomer energy and decay modes. NuDat provides both NWC and ENSDF values, which can be confusing to users.

  3. NWC-ENSDF Compatibility Example 1: 147Xe, exists in NWC but not in ENSDF. Example 2: 146Xe has T1/2 and decay modes in NWC but the ENSDF file (10 years old, 1 level) has only incomplete decay mode. Example 3: 108Ag isomer, NWC has more recent T1/2. Changing the ENSDF T1/2 will require running LOGFT and checking for Jp arguments. Received many e-mails recently on this issue

  4. NWC-ENSDF Compatibility Proposed action: 1) Check for NWC-ENSDF compatibility a few times a year in levels energy, T1/2, Jp and decay modes. 2) If NWC values are more up to date: 2.1) Communicate with ENSDF evaluator. 2.2) For cases where NO LOGFT/ALPHAD/RULER calculations are involved, (examples 1 and 2) the NNDC will perform the update with the original evaluator’s consent. 2.3) For more complex cases, original evaluator will be expected to perform changes within a few months. If evaluator is not available, the NNDC will do it. The NNDC may perform the update if the original evaluator so wishes.
