Vision & Mission Vision There exists a dynamic, open system for adult learning in Hartford that provides equal access to high-quality coordinated services for Hartford’s diverse community Mission To facilitate the creation and use of user-friendly, comprehensive database of adult learning resources for Hartford’s diverse community

  4. Main Idea • Adult Education Life Long Learning Beyond Careers • Include Both Immigrants and Hartford Residents • Focus our action on Careers

  5. Workplace Skills Training • Shortage of qualified workers • Job applicants lack basic reading and math skills • Students struggle to demonstrate the ability to apply learned skills and knowledge

  6. KeyTrain • Targeted, self-paced instruction • English and Spanish curriculum in several formats • Pre- and post-assessments • Occupational job profiles database • Curriculum for all levels • Applied mathematics skills • Reading for information • Locating information

  7. Learner Web Concept • A Learning Support System • Not a Curriculum • Requires a Learning Community • Self Paced Instruction • On Line and Face to Face Work • Tutor Support • Electronic Portfolio • Regional Implementation
