  • Boiling solution of potassium carbonate (potash) with calcium hydroxide (slaked lime)

  • Calcium carbonate precipitates

  • Potassium hydroxide left in the solution

Why Humans Need this Base to Live in Space

Potassium Hydroxide is used to make alkaline fuel cells and alkaline fuel cells are used for space rockets. Without space rockets humans can’t go to space. And with this base we can use it as biofuel and petroleum. Those two substances are great resources of energy that we could use in space.

  • Bi-products are included: hydrogen and chlorine gas
