  3. What is peer mediation? • Peer mediation is a service that students can use to resolve conflicts with other students. • It gives the students an opportunity to be more independent and solve conflicts in a responsible manner.

  4. Who is eligible to be a peer mediator? • 4th and 5th grade students who complete an application with a letter of reference and possess necessary qualities to perform the duties of a peer mediator

  5. When and where is peer mediation? • Peer mediators meet during lunch/recess once per week • Days and location TBA depending on the number of applicants

  6. How does peer mediation work? What are the steps involved in mediation? • Getting each side of the story • Eliciting feelings from both sides • Brainstorming solutions • Compromising to make an agreement • Signing an agreement
