  4. New Greek Root: FORE • Write these words in your journal for D.O.L. • Foreshadow • Forefathers • Forewarn Make an educated guess… What do they mean?

  5. FORE means… “before” or “in advance” FOREshadow– to show something beforehand (a technique used by authors) FOREfathers- your ancestors FOREwarn- to warn in advance

  6. What do you think these words mean? • Foremast: • The mast nearest the front of a ship • Forebrain • The anterior (front part) of the brain

  7. Assignment  • Find two words in the dictionary (Pg. 284-285) that begin with FORE. • HINT: Be sure you are using words that have some relation to the meaning of the root. • Complete the activity for each word. • Tomorrow: Share one of your words with the class!
