  1. Jesus’ Being Rejected 22Saying, The Son of man must suffer many things, and be rejected of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be slain, and be raised the third day. Luke 9:22 October 2, 2011 Rev. David B. Hanson Deaf Liberty Baptist Church Overland Park, Kansas

  2. Joseph’s Coat • Genesis 37:3-4 • 3Now Israel loved Joseph more than all his children, because he was the son of his old age: and he made him a coat of many colours. • 4And when his brethren saw that their father loved him more than all his brethren, they hated him, and could not speak peaceably unto him.

  3. Joseph’s First Dream • Genesis 37:5-7 • 5And Joseph dreamed a dream, and he told it his brethren: and they hated him yet the more. • 6And he said unto them, Hear, I pray you, this dream which I have dreamed: • 7For, behold, we were binding sheaves in the field, and, lo, my sheaf arose, and also stood upright; and, behold, your sheaves stood round about, and made obeisance to my sheaf.

  4. Joseph’s Second Dream • Genesis 37:9-11 • 9And he dreamed yet another dream, and told it his brethren, and said, Behold, I have dreamed a dream more; and, behold, the sun and the moon and the eleven stars made obeisance to me. • 10And he told it to his father, and to his brethren: and his father rebuked him, and said unto him, What is this dream that thou hast dreamed? Shall I and thy mother and thy brethren indeed come to bow down ourselves to thee to the earth? • 11And his brethren envied him; but his father observed the saying.

  5. Joseph Being Rejected • Genesis 37:28 • 28Then there passed by Midianites merchantmen; and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit, and sold Joseph to the Ishmeelites for twenty pieces of silver: and they brought Joseph into Egypt.

  6. Joseph Being Rejected Again • Genesis 39:20 • 20And Joseph's master took him, and put him into the prison, a place where the king's prisoners were bound: and he was there in the prison.

  7. Joseph Being Exalted • Genesis 41:41 • 41And Pharaoh said unto Joseph, See, I have set thee over all the land of Egypt.

  8. Jesus Christ Being Exalted • Philippians 2:8-10 • 8And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross. • 9Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name: • 10That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;

  9. You Follow Jesus Christ’s Steps • Luke 9:23 • 23And he said to them all, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross daily, and follow me. • 1 Peter 2:21 • 21For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:
