Goal: Be able to develop my ideas throughout a piece

  • You need a purpose, audience and style

  • Purpose: to persuade or to explore/explain

  • Possible styles:

    Speech, Feature Article, Letter,

  • Possible audiences:

    Teenagers, Parents, Politicians, Leunig, Middle class white collar workers, Bogans, The 1%, The 99%, Indigenous Australians, others?


PROMPT: It is difficult not to conform to a dominant reality.

Overview using essential questions

  • Why is it difficult?

  • Why is the authentic easily swamped by what is artificial?

  • What are the consequences of conforming?

  • However, is it possible to swim against the tide?

  • Why do so few do it?

  • Therefore, why is it important that people do swim against the tide?
